Instructions, steps 1-3

1. Decide what you want to ask. (You can use the box at the top to type your question: it will not be recorded in any way.)
2. Click on the 'Consult the I Ching' button. The hexagram(s) of your answer will appear in the top frame. Any lines shown in red are changing lines.
3. Click the 'Primary Hexagram' button to replace this left-hand frame with the text of the primary hexagram.

Clicking the arrow to the right of the box with 'Hilary Barrett translation' will give you a choice of translations: Legge's, and my own (which also includes excerpts from my commentary on the hexagram).

You can switch between translations any time by changing the option in the drop-down box and clicking the 'Primary hexagram', 'Relating hexagram' or 'Show both hexagrams' buttons. (Clicking the 'Consult the I Ching' button would generate new hexagrams.)
